Insulin is 100+ years old, yet people still can’t afford it.
Insulin costs force 1 in 5 users in America to ration their supply. Just 3 manufacturers dominate 90% of the market. Project Insulin exists to disrupt this system by providing affordable, reliable insulin directly to the people who need it most.

How We’ll Make It
We’re developing and producing our own biosimilar (generic) insulin glargine, through partnerships with contract research and manufacturing organizations. By owning our insulin we will control the price as well.
How We’ll Get Approved
Since the patent for insulin glargine expired in 2015, the scientific formula is now well established and available for public use, making it possible to develop biosimilar versions. We will also benefit from a faster path to FDA approval because there are fewer hoops to jump through. We’re currently raising $750,000 to complete our strain development and begin the next phase of drug development.
How We'll Deliver It
Lowering the cost of insulin is only the first step—real access means meeting patients where they are. That is why we plan to distribute insulin through our own mail order pharmacy while also partnering with community and federal health clinics, so people can get the medicine they need in the places they already trust for care.
How We’re Funding it
Until our insulin reaches the market, we’ll rely on donations and grants. Once FDA approval is secured and sales begin, revenue will cover manufacturing and operating costs. At that stage, outside funding will be used to lower patient prices and support future research and development.
